About the artwork
This picture shows an abandoned, half-open door that reveals a green wall of plants. The once plain wooden door, with faded varnish and rust on the handles, opens into an overgrown space that is slowly being reclaimed by nature. Vines and plants have made their way inside through the openings and cracks and nestle against the walls as if claiming the space for themselves.
The light that filters through the dense vegetation creates a fascinating contrast between the dark interior of the abandoned building and the lush greenery outside. The scene is reminiscent of a place that was abandoned a long time ago and to which nature is now quietly and inexorably returning.
