This is a photo that I've taken during my visit in Cyprus, Nicosia. I was escorted by the United Nations on a walk through the Green Line (Buffer Zone).
The Green Line / Buffer Zone in Cyprus is a demilitarised zone patrolled by the United Nations, that was established in 1964 and extended in 1974, following the Turkish intervention of Cyprus. The Green Line cuts through the centre of Nicosia, separating the city into southern (Greek) and northern (Turkish) sections. Nicosia is the last divided capital of Europe. The Buffer Zone in Nicosia is a no-go area for civilians.
