A weathered wall with remnants of old posters by Anya Langerak

The wall bears the marks of a past that does not readily reveal itself. Layer upon layer, posters once hung here, announcing, calling out and telling stories. Now only fragments and weathered remnants are visible, like loose pieces of a jigsaw puzzle from forgotten tales. Together, the torn pieces of paper form an intriguing mosaic that gives the wall a mysterious, weathered appearance. It is precisely this imperfection that makes it so fascinating: a silent witness to time, which stimulates the imagination and leaves you wondering what posters once hung here.

Every tear, discolouration and remnant of paper seems to represent a chapter of its own. What was once important enough to be announced in grand style has now faded away under the sun, wind and rain. Yet the traces have not vanished; they have become embedded in the wall, giving it a character that has only grown richer with the passing years.

As you look at the weathered surfaces, you naturally feel the urge to fill in the missing parts with your own imagination. Was it an announcement of a local festival, a call for change, a concert, or perhaps an event that has long since been forgotten? The wall offers no answers, but invites wonder.
