An abandoned site on a former industrial estate. The blue fence the blue window frames in the facades. The fallen brown leaves. The rusty fire hydrant that almost blends into its surroundings. The Hembrug site never ceases to amaze. This photo depicts decay and construction.
With my work as a street photographer, I show the rough, unpolished sides of city life. With my photos, I try to capture the beauty of everyday moments. The viewer can then invent his or her own story to go with it. I also have a fondness for industrial environments, such as harbour sites and factory buildings, where traces of the industrial past are still present. In doing so, I try to capture subtle details, using both digital and analogue cameras.
