Every year, the time comes. Around February, the red deer drop their antlers, only to regain new and flawless antlers after a few months. When the new antlers are fully grown they are still covered by a layer of skin called: the bark.
I took this photo of a young male red deer on the Veluwe. The black background highlights the deer, so all the attention is on the subject.
