A beautiful day in Icelandic Þakgil. A walk through a rugged nature reserve, where the wind almost knocked us over at times. A location not to be bored with. Sometimes we sought the shelter of a large rock, to enjoy our view, hidden from the wind.
Sometimes it happened that a cloud bothered me. A blockade, between the landscape stretching out before me, and the sun making the sparkling green disappear before my eyes.
It was more than worth it to wait until the sun managed to regain its place between the clouds.
With this photo, the wait was rewarded one hundred percent. The layering in the landscape, and the clouds that stood out against the blue sky made for a unique landscape. A landscape like you only will find in Iceland.
It is certainly not the last time I will honor (Þakgil) Takgil with a visit. The area is particularly suitable for semi long walks with always surprising views, rock formations, fairy streams, and if you know how to find it also a beautiful waterfall.
