on the catwalk
a natural born model
and she knows
On the catwalk is a hand-painted acrylic painting in portrait format by artist Karen Kaspar.
A black cat balances on the thin bar of a wooden fence. The elegant pose with its paws placed in front of each other and its tail curved upwards gives the impression that the beautiful animal with its shiny black fur is walking on a catwalk like a model. The cat's yellow-green eyes are directed attentively to the left, conveying a sense of curiosity or concentration.
The background is abstracted in bright lime green and light green shades, suggesting a natural environment such as the foliage of bushes or trees.
The picture is painted with loose and expressive brushstrokes.
This work, a combination of painting and haiku, is a joint project by Karen Kaspar (© art and artwork) and Marjolein Rotsteeg (© Haiku).
A haiku is a traditional Japanese poetry form consisting of three lines.
Here the acrylic painting was completed with the haiku in English. In my portfolio there is also a variant with the poem in Dutch (see album 'Haiku and Painting Dutch'). The painting is also available without text (see album 'Cats').
You can find more paintings with haiku and poems in my albums 'Haiku and Painting English' and 'Haiku and Painting Dutch'. New works are constantly being added to the albums. So keep checking back from time to time!
