A moment on the South Pier
A seagull waits patiently for a fish or a crab, sitting on the basalt blocks at the end of the South Pier. His post: a spot overlooking the still waters of the calm sea.
The photo is in black and white, with a strong contrast that beautifully highlights the rough stone, the bird's feathers and the play of light and shadow. A quiet moment at the edge of the land.
With my work as a street photographer, I show the rough, unpolished sides of city life. With my photographs, I try to capture the beauty of everyday moments. The viewer can then invent his or her own story to go with it. I also have a fondness for industrial environments, such as harbour sites and factory buildings, where traces of the industrial past are still present. In doing so, I try to photograph subtle details, using both digital and analogue cameras.
Dive into the world of 'Zaankanter op avontuur' and discover the frayed edges of everyday life through my lens.
Zaankanteropavontuur with the camera armed across the country. Frayed edges of cities and industrial estates, as well as villages and coasts.
Photography digital and analogue from the camera for on the wall, of the living room waiting room, study or office. Or as wallpaper wall filling!
Zaankanteropavontuur.
Always on adventure and looking for industrial landscapes and details. And I do a lot of street photography. Walking through the streets, old villages and city centers.
I photograph mainly with an analogue Yashica 635 and a Ricoh AF 5.
