I love looking for those places that look ordinary and unspectacular and drawing attention to them. To highlight the beauty of nature that so often gets overlooked. This is a place that I have passed so many times and didn't even consider it because it was pretty dull. But when you stop and look and use your imagination so see things differently. This is how the landscape painters of bygone years saw things. In a time where every minute of every day need to be filled, we are losing the opportunity to just be present.
There is a texture added and techniques are used to give the photograph a painterly feel. The colours have been reduced slightly, adding a sense of age. Using my technique I am able to play with light and contrast, softening certain areas and strengthening others, which enables me to draw the viewers eye to a specific part of the image, very much like a painter would do.
