This abstract acrylic art piece was hard work! It was created using a builder's took, a plastering tool, also known as a trowel or squeegee. It is quite physical as it takes some effort to hold the canvas and drag the tool across the canvas, building up layers of paint. Thought has to go into the paint colours selected because some will go muddy when mixed with others and some will dominate others. This piece has 14 layers of paint, gradually built up in different directions, creating a wonderful textured finish to eh canvas. A whole range of colours are involved here including red, purple, yellow and turquoise.
