We're looking at a phenomenon. Wendover Will is the largest mechanical cowboy in the world, 19 meters high. Officially listed in the Guinness Book of World Records. In this picture Will is still on the place where he was put down in 1952: next to the Stateline Hotel in West Wendover, Nevada. His job was to lure passers-by inside the hotel-restaurant, and most importantly: into the casino. He did this 24/7, because when night fell, the flashing neon tubes popped on, and Will was seen from far far away. In 2005 the hotel donated Will to the city of West Wendover. He was refurbished and moved to a prominent spot on Wendover Boulevard. On another pedestal though, but still just as bright. With this vintage photo you not only get a work of art, but also a special piece of American cultural heritage.(Collection Timeview, USA, here's the West 1950s)
