The digital artwork depicts an atmospheric night scene over the Wittevrouwen district, titled "Breyerskameren." The sky is deep blue, clear and cloudless, with a full moon casting soft light over the facades. The moon is high in the sky, providing a silent witness to the historical character of the place. No people are visible, emphasising the tranquillity and timelessness of the scene.
Central to the scene are two distinctive facades of old houses, with their simple yet graceful architecture. The facades are authentic, with subtle details suggesting age and history. The windows have open shutters, evoking an inviting yet vulnerable atmosphere. Warm, yellowish light shines behind the windows of the left house, evoking a sense of life and habitation, despite the absence of human figures.
A striking feature of the left house is the coat of arms stone, prominently visible next to the door, house number 14. This stone, from 1749, bears an inscription in honour of Iohan Breyer, the benefactor who gave his name to the houses. The stone is artfully rendered, with carefully imitated engravings and a weathered appearance, as if defying the ravages of time.
The colour palette of the artwork is controlled, with cool blue tones of doors and shutters complemented by the warm interior light and soft moonlight. These contrasts enhance the serene, almost poetic atmosphere of the piece, in which past and present merge subtly.
