THE ART OF LOOKING
Luc van de Steeg, born on April 30, 1960 in Hilversum,
Netherlands.
Since my early childhood I have been involved with photography, thanks to my brothers who worked for the air force and the photo industry.
We had a studio and photo-darkroom built in the garden from old wooden church shutters.
One of my brothers showed me the magic of photography, in black and white, the picture slowly appeared on the photo paper.
At the age of 11 I got my first camera, an instamatic later a semi-automatic(Canon) and finally the SLR(Praktica) with the famous Metz flash, the CT 45-with wet battery, it weighs a ton but from 20 meters distance ( 65 feet!) you could still use the flash effectively.
In and out of jobs but mainly in Photo- and Filmlabs, the analog days, later with printed media and of course internet for various media(television programs) in the Netherlands.
Now I am early retired due to health problems, if possible I still go outside to take pictures.
My conclusion and motto is: "The Art of Looking", try to look from a different perspective to everyday things, but also the beauty in nature.
Be and stay good.
