About Me - The World Through My Lens
For me, photography is more than just capturing images; it is a way of telling stories, evoking emotions and showing the world from a unique perspective. My work is a combination of landscapes, cityscapes, nature and moments that capture the mood and soul of a place. From the vast panoramas of the Grand Canyon to the intimate streets of Como, from the dynamism of Shibuya to the hushed beauty of a lone reed warbler in the polder - each image has its own story.
? My style and technique
My photography ranges from wide panoramic landscapes to atmospheric cityscapes and sophisticated nature moments. I regularly work with tilt-shift lenses, giving some images an almost miniature look. I also experiment with light, contrast and composition to capture the right atmosphere, whether it is the drama of a dark sky over the Watzmann, or the warm glow of Amsterdam canals in evening light.
? Inspiration & Travel
I get my inspiration from the world around me - the interaction between people and nature, the movement of a city, the stillness of a solitary animal in the landscape. Travelling plays a big part in this: Japan, Italy, the United States and, of course, the beautiful nature of the Netherlands are recurring themes in my work.
