Dion de Bakker (1960) Born and raised in the Burgundian South. Just after the hippies but with Punk, New Wave and especially Bowie. It was also the time of Disco, but I didn't have much to do with that. My hobbies besides photography were music, sports, motorcycling, steep wall climbing and parachuting. I was not a student, but training to be a forest ranger seemed like a good idea. Unfortunately, I did not manage to get accepted at forestry school. After a job in a photo-vacation laboratory, I had to do military service at some point. Photography was still my big hobby. During this service, I therefore studied at the school of photography. After my military service, I was able to go back to work in the photo lab. I kept this up for some years, but taking photos myself was and still is my passion. In 1993, this led me to start working as an independent photographer. Initially as an all-round photographer, taking whatever you can get and trying to earn a living that way. Working like a free-range chicken to earn a living didn't work very well. At that time, a huge change took place within photography: analogue became digital. As early as 1996, this led me to become proficient in photo scanning and digital image processing. Not soon after came the first professional digital camera. What are the delivery times?
At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.
How will the package be sent?
We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.
Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.
A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.
Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.
Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
