Passion for bird photography
"After my working life, I found space for a new passion: photography. What started in 2024 as a hobby to enjoy the outdoors has quickly grown into a serious love for bird photography.
I took my first steps with a simple Canon camera and a Tamron lens. That was a great start to learn the basics, but I soon realised that the world of birds demands more. Birds are fast, shy and often found at a great distance. To really capture the details of a feather or the sparkle in an eye, I realised that a better set of equipment was essential.
For the past year and a half, I have been photographing with the Canon EOS R7, combined with the powerful Canon 200-800mm lens. This switch has taken my work to the next level; the enormous range of the lens allows me to photograph birds without disturbing their natural behaviour.
I now regularly go out, armed with my camera and a good dose of patience. For me, there is nothing more beautiful than the tranquillity of nature, waiting for that one moment when everything comes together: the light, the composition and the perfect pose of a kingfisher, bird of prey or songbird.
My goal is simple but challenging: to be in nature as much as possible and to constantly develop myself. For me, every successful photograph is proof that you are never too old to master a new skill to perfection.
