About Art by Ilona

Ilona de Vries (1969), born in the Netherlands and now at home in Belgium for more than 20 years, is a woman who shapes her life with a rare combination of curiosity, willfulness and creative daring. Although architecture seemed to be her first vocation, she chose to study fashion and clothing: a world in which mathematics, precision and creative design merge flawlessly.
Over the years, Ilona held various professions, sometimes far from her original path, but always there was a common thread: fashion as a profession, architecture as a passion. She founded not one, but two fashion academies, where she has now been teaching for years with pride and determination. There, she also developed her own pattern-drawing system - an approachable method that allows anyone to draw patterns at their own size. She also published two original books on lingerie, taking her knowledge and skills even further into the world.
But Ilona's creativity never stands still. Challenges and new forms of expression attract her naturally. That is why she made a powerful sidestep into the art world, where she translates her love for geometry to canvas. In her work, clean lines, patterns and architectural elements come together in unique designs that bridge the gap between fashion and art. Creating authentic decorative walls also gives her joy - another place where she can literally give form to her vision.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.

Mooi afgewerkt met een klein schoonheidsfoutje Er bleek een fout in het bestand van de foto te zitten waardoor er een witte streep aan de onderkant van het schilderij zichtbaar was. Na melding hebben wij kosteloos een herprint gekregen. Klasse!
