Felixofie on canvas, poster, wallpaper and ArtFrame by Esther van de Beek

Felix van de Beek (1938-2018) Visual Artist. After recovering from a hernia, Felix started drawing again as rehabilitation. Many of these drawings are expressions of feeling. Felix was fascinated by fauna and flora, he had an extensive knowledge of animals and plants. The organic forms in his abstract work and the power of the drawings of human confrontations speak for themselves. This series is therefore called 'Felixofie' 'Where Felix showed up, there was an infectious activity' Felix van de Beek (1938) born in Roermond lived and worked in Maastricht. In the period from 1953 to 1963 he studied at the Applied Arts School and the Jan van Eijck Academy in Maastricht. In the first half of the 1970s, the visual emphasis was still on the design of Plexiglas objects that could transparently encompass the water with all its living organisms. While in the second half (1970s) only aquatic organisms became a main theme in his work, including the photo project 'movement changes with fish', the series with toads, mosquito larvae and daphnia.
