About the artwork

zombie in cellar face: A zombie is a mythical creature. It is a body brought back from the dead by magical powers. The zombie finds its origin in African and Caribbean folklore. In this view, the zombie is a slave who, after his death, must continue to work for his master, the one who resurrected him from the dead.

In popular culture, the zombie is counted among the undead like vampires. George A. Romero is widely regarded as the inventor of the 'modern' zombie as seen in feature films, books and comic books. Mary Shelley's Frankenstein is a prelude to many 20th-century ideas about zombies, but is not a true 'zombie novel'. Revenge-loving zombies were prominent in the EC Comics of the early 1950s. George A. Romero himself mentions Tales from the Crypt as an important influence.

Because the zombie has no literary basis, the freedom of movement and interpretation of authors and directors when using the phenomenon of zombie is very large. As a result, zombies in fiction differ enormously in various media products in certain respects. In its most general sense, zombie has thus become an umbrella term for infected people who start showing violent behaviour and in this way further spread the infection.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
