Nature is always unpredictable. You never know what you will get to see beforehand.
During a walk in a park, this duck was sitting at the water's edge. The sun was coming beautifully from behind.
By choosing a low vantage point, the background became the water, making the duck stand out more.
After a few photos, the duck turned its head towards me, stood on one leg and assumed this yoga pose.
You often see this behaviour in birds, they do this for temperature regulation, especially in colder months. Their legs have no feathers, so they warm these up in their feathers.
To me, this work signifies the splendour of nature. How they by standing on one leg to regulate temperature. An ingenious way to stay warm thus.
This image gives a very peaceful atmosphere for me, we live in a society where we have to do a lot. It is precisely moments like these that often make me realise that we should enjoy more of what is happening around us.
