A golden October day in the Allgäu Alps, a place where autumn and winter join hands. The path from Laufbacher Eck to Seihenker, at 1791 metres, reveals a panorama that takes your breath away. In front of me rises the imposing Rauheck, 2384 metres high, already covered in the first snow of the year. The white flakes cover the peaks like fine stripes of icing sugar, and in the distance, thick clouds embrace the mountains as if to soften their sharp edges. A dance of the elements in which the clouds appear weightless and yet powerful, repeatedly veiling and revealing the scenery.
The cool, clear air carries the scent of autumn leaves and the first signs of winter. The deep orange and rich red of the mountain slopes, where the foliage shines in all its splendour, contrasts magically with the glistening white of the snow on the peaks. Everything seems calm, almost like a picture frozen in time, but at the same time full of lively stillness. Every step on the path lets you hear the crackling of the frozen grass underfoot, while your soul breathes in harmony with the majesty of nature. The mountains seem sublime, majestic and yet approachable, as if they are inviting us humans to become part of this eternal cycle of the seasons.
