The floodplains of the river Merwede near Gorinchem sometimes reveal the remains of this old fishing vessel during exceptionally low tides. No more than a skeleton, it lies at the bottom of the river for at least 60 years. In the middle of winter at the end of a cold day photographer Bert-jan de Wagenaar went into the icy water to shoot this atmospheric picture.
