Marker Wadden, a sub-area of National Park Nieuw Land, is a unique project that contributes to the restoration of nature in the Markermeer by constructing islands with sand, clay and silt from the bottom of the Markermeer. The largest island is managed by Natuurmonumenten. You can visit the island by ferry to walk around and watch the many birds. The island is very flat and there is low vegetation, there are no trees. In many places the sky reflects in the water, a beautiful sight. The low viewpoint of the photo makes the rocks with their colors and textures prominent.
