A top down view on the Chicago subway tracks.
The Chicago tower 18 junction at Lake & Wells street is a unique peace of railway engineering where four subway lines meet and intersect. It forms an important part of “The loop” which is the central part of the subway system in the city. The Chicago subway, otherwise known as “The L” runs mainly above ground on elevated tracks above the street. It is one of the most iconic and recognisable parts of the Chicago. The metal structures above the street give a very rugged and industrial vibe to the city and it is one of my favourite things to photograph around the world. This image was taken from a public parking lot. The high elevation gives a great view over the tracks and the passing trains.
