One of the most beautiful lakes I have ever seen in Europe I the iceberg lake in southeast Iceland, also called Jökulsárlón. This name is difficult for us to pronounce so most people just speak about the iceberg lake. This lake is created by large pieces of ice breaking off from the Vatnajokull glacier and floating in the lake. Large and small pieces of ice float in the lake and make for a beautiful picture. With a little luck you will also see seals lying on the ice floes. The lake is easily accessible for tourists because it is located on the main road. There is a parking lot from where you have a good view over the lake. Behind the parking lot is a small hill and if you walk up here the view is even better. Most tourists view the lake from this parking lot because the wind often blows the ice floes in this direction of the lake.
