Hans Andersen Brendekilde, born Hans Andersen (Brændekilde, Funen, Denmark, April 7, 1857 - Jyllinge, Zealand, March 30, 1942) was a Danish painter and designer. He painted in a naturalistic style. The artist studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Art in Copenhagen. Later, he would also show influences of impressionism, especially in his use of colour. After the turn of the century, his work became more idyllic and somewhat sentimental.
