About the artwork

Most of the general cargo transported by ship today is carried by container ship across the world's oceans. In addition to the common standard container, 2 TEU, there are also various specialized container types, with the standardized outer dimensions of 20 feet or 40 feet long, but also the sizes 10 and 45 feet occur, reefers for the transport of, for example, refrigerated and frozen cargo and containers for liquid cargo or project cargo that can be transported on a platform, so-called flat racks.
A relatively new development (several decades) is the container crane for loading and unloading containers. This is basically a heavy gantry crane where the girder for the trolley extends beyond the ends of the vertical support structure.
To load or unload container ships, the trolley must be able to extend far beyond the edge of the quay; some cranes can load and unload containers as wide as 28. The cranes grab the containers with a so-called spreader, so they can grab all kinds of different sized containers. There are also cranes with special spreaders that can grab 2 separate TEUs, this is called twinning. It is impractical to build a kind of dock for the gigantic ships so the crane is adapted to load and unload the ships.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
