An impressionistic photograph of birch trees near one of the fens of the Oisterwijkse Bossen en Vennen, a nature reserve near Oisterwijk in North Brabant. Moving the camera gently up and down while shooting creates this softening effect. The technique is sometimes referred to as ICM: Intentional Camera Movement. The blue water and orange-brown leaves are beautiful complementary colours. The impressionistic effect lets you dream away while viewing.
Landscapes and townscapes are my favourite subjects. I search for beauty in the image; that can come from any of the compositional elements such as lines, shapes, rhythms, light/dark, colour combinations. For me a photograph is successful, when I can hang it on the wall.. Read more…
