It was late October when temperatures in Austria were actually supposed to be heading toward winter. That weekend it was a different story. It was more like Indian summer with temperatures around 23 degrees. I was eager to see snow in the mountains. So then I headed for the highest mountains in that region, to catch a glimpse of the snow left. The Zugspitze is the highest mountain in Germany at 2,962 meters, but I also wanted to go through Austria that day. On the way to the Zugspitze on the Austrian side, the view was heartwarming and worth stopping anyway to capture this picture with clear visibility and a little bit of snow on the left side of the mountain after all. With this photo I like to take you as if you were standing there yourself. You can also see in the picture a stripe of an airplane. I left this on purpose because highlights are very personal. The Zugspitze may be the highest mountain in Germany, but not in Austria. The plane is also much higher than the mountain and where I am standing to take this picture is a highlight for me, because I also enjoy myself at this altitude even though I am not at my highest point. Do you enjoy your own highlights enough along the way?
