Impression of beach and sea at Zoutelande on Walcheren in Zeeland. Raging sea, white foam heads, a dark sky with sunset. The wooden breakwaters stick out just above the water. The tide is high and the wind pounds against the shore, driving up the water. It is great to look out to sea with the wind in your face and enjoy the waves. It is December, on the cusp of New Year's Eve. Storm Gerrit has just passed, Henk is the next storm on the agenda. The sea is still choppy and the water is higher than normal. It will be some time before things calm down again. But nothing is more beautiful than the ferocious power of water and it is wonderful to witness it. After all, the sea is always pulling in and even now it is great to watch it raging on the beach and how colours and patterns keep changing.
