Proud but also a little anxious and uncomfortable, this young lapwing steps into the wide world. The parents still flew around to chase away any enemies.
Unfortunately, you see them a lot less in recent years, not like in the past, when you saw a few lapwings in almost every meadow. This one looks as if he/she is going to change it again, so proudly she walks upright here. Hopefully it will manage to return safely next year and also be able to provide for offspring.
