Over 50 volunteers started building the airfield near Ballum on Ameland in late 1945. In 1957, the Minister of Transport and Public Works designated it as an aerodrome.
Since then, you can take off there for a fantastic sightseeing flight or an adventurous parachute jump. Apart from its recreational function, the airfield is also crucial in rescue operations.
