About ‘Yellow arrows on the tarmac’ by Arthur van Iterson

An aerial view of an urban traffic area shows a plane of grey asphalt with weathered surface texture and subtle layering. Two yellow arrow markings – one pointing top-left and one bottom-right – divide the frame diagonally. The composition is structured by thin white and dashed lines running parallel, rhythmically dividing the space. In the top-left, a narrow footpath with coarse stone texture is visible. The asphalt texture varies in tone through wear and shadow, without human presence or movement. The colour accent of the arrows contrasts with the otherwise neutral, grey-toned surroundings. The image has a graphic character through the use of planes, lines and repetition. The absence of context beyond road markings reinforces the focus on form and structure. Suitable for interior spaces with a sleek or industrial design, where graphic compositions and neutral tones with subtle colour accents fit naturally.
