This photo was taken at the Wuhnleger, an idyllic firefighting pond above Tiers in South Tyrol. The place is not only a real insider tip for photographers, but also a popular excursion destination for nature lovers. On clear days in particular, the pond transforms into a perfect mirror for the impressive Catinaccio massif, whose jagged peaks appear almost surreal in the surface of the water.
The scene looks like something out of a fairy tale: the grass gently sways on the shore while tiny insects dance above the water. The tranquillity is almost tangible. In the background, the Dolomites rise dramatically into the sky, framed by clouds that lend the picture additional depth.
The reflection in the pond almost doubles the effect of the picture - heaven and earth seem to touch. For me, this moment was a moment to pause, to marvel at the perfect harmony of landscape, light and perspective.
This motif unfolds its full effect as a large landscape format - ideal for rooms in which peace and closeness to nature should be tangible. Whether as a highlight in the living room or as a haven of peace in a surgery: this picture brings the magic of South Tyrol straight to your heart.
