Woman :In western cultures, the distinction between 'girl' and 'woman' is very vague. There, the term 'girl' is often still used for someone of the female gender over 20 years of age. Sometimes the word 'girl' is used for a virgin or unmarried woman.[1] Depending on the situation, this can be experienced as derogatory. In some cultures it can be hurtful if an unmarried or virgin woman is called a 'woman', because that implies that she is no longer a virgin. Many non-western cultures have rituals that symbolize that the girl has grown up.
