India is a magical country for me as a photographer. The people, the colors, the culture and the delicious vega(n) food make it for me a wonderful country to travel through. But it also has its downsides. There is a lot of poverty which is sad to see, there is always noise, especially from honking cars and it is dirty, very dirty often which makes India not attractive for everyone. Yet, there is also so much beauty in this country.
Like this woman with beautiful blue eyes and her red clothes who immediately caught my eye. I met her at the rat temple in Deshnok. I asked if I could photograph her but she did not speak English and also people from India did not understand her because of the many dialects India has. She shook no but with them that means yes. It was no problem that I photographed her. When I finished and said hello to her, I got a stroke on my head. Although we did not speak the same language, we understood each other this sweet, special woman and the photographer.
This picture of her hangs in our living room at home. Not only because I find her so special to see but also because she is a beautiful memory for me.
