About ‘Winter on the Veluwe’ by Laura Dijkslag

On a quiet winter day in the Speulderbos in the Veluwe region, I took this photo of a lonely road winding its way through a world of snow. The Speulderbos, also known as the "forest of dancing trees", is known for its winding beeches and mysterious atmosphere. With the thick pack of snow, the landscape transformed into an almost fairy-tale setting, exactly like you rarely see on the Veluwe.

The branches bend heavily under the weight of the snow, forming a white roof over the road. The colours are soft and subdued: cool tones of white and light blue are interspersed with warm accents from the tree trunks and a hint of brown from the winter leaves still just visible. In the distance, a car slowly drives into the picture, adding to the scale of the impressive forest and giving a sense of calm and stillness.

I tried to capture the winter magic as I experienced it myself: the cold on my cheeks, the silence in which every sound is muffled and the special light falling through the clearings between the trees. This fine art photo fits well in an interior where natural tones and a serene atmosphere are important. Think of a living room, office or bedroom, but also a reception hall or waiting room with a connection to the Veluwe and the Dutch landscape. It is an image for lovers of nature, winter and the unique beauty of the Veluwe.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
