One of the two large wine-growing regions in the south is Baden. The region stretches over 400 kilometres. The approximately 15,800 hectares of cultivated land is divided into nine sub-regions. Due to its unique geographical location, Baden has the most hours of sunshine. And thus it has the warmest climate in Germany. Added to this is the good soil. This makes Baden one of the best wine-growing regions in Europe. Baden is the only German wine-growing region that is classified in European wine-growing zone B. Its wines are as diverse as its landscapes. Each region has its own character. And each region produces its own distinctive wine.
The wine-growing regions in Baden: Lake Constance, Markgräflerland, Kaiserstuhl, Tuniberg, Breisgau, Ortenau, Kraichgau, Badische Bergstrasse and Tauberfranken.
