Wide ditch in the Korendijkse Slikken nature reserve near the South Holland village of Goudswaard in the Hoeksche Waard. The ditch has just been cleaned and ditch cattle lie on the bank to dry. The area of nearly 500 hectares is managed by Natuurmonumenten. The area consists of freshwater tidal nature and wet grasslands. Because many birds hibernate and breed in the protected area, it is only accessible in the period from July 1 to November 1. The photo was taken in late summer.
