During my trip to South Korea, I was lucky enough to witness the magnificent lotus flower. As luck would have it, a magnificent caged carp also swam by , an image I was keen to capture.
The work was painted with oil paint and with the smear technique. In short, I painted the whole thing and then wiped it out with a ruler.
With this, I hoped to depict the play of the water and the calmness of the pond. How the carp swam calmly through the dark water that contrasted sharply with too beautiful white lotus flowers.
