Beachy Head Lighthouse is a lighthouse erected for Beachy Head, a promontory made up of chalk cliffs located near the town of Eastbourne in the English county of East Sussex. The tower alerts boaters to the dangerous currents around the cape and warns of a slab of rock with sharp protrusions located below the surface of the water between Eastbourne and the hamlet of Birling Gap.
