It was a not too pretty sunset and I wasn't really expecting much more from it. The sun disappeared further and further behind a thin band of clouds on the horizon during the evening. It's one of those evenings when you know you can forget about beautiful colours. Yet they are also beautiful evenings because you are often more inclined to experiment and do things you might not have done if expectations had been different.
The tide was coming in more and more and I decided to make use of a few mussel-covered stones in the foreground to give the photo some more depth. Otherwise, I wanted to make as minimalistic a photo as possible with lots of open space. A photo that calms you down. In my mind, I also knew this goto would be converted into black and white to make the photo even more calm and minimalistic. A bit of a blue tint adds some extra atmosphere.
I also wanted to use a slow shutter speed to give the waves a soft look but not so much that the dynamics of the waves would disappear.
A beautiful, calm and stylish photo that would do very well in a minimalist and calm interior. Tasteful!
