The White Sands National Park (before 20 December 2019 White Sands National Monument) is a National Park and National Monument in the United States, about 25 km from Alamogordo in New Mexico at an elevation of 1291 metres. The area is part of the mountain-surrounded Tularosa Basin valley and contains the southern part of a 710 km² field of gypsum crystal sand dunes.
On 18 January 1933, President Herbert Hoover declared White Sands a national monument under the Antiquities Act of 1906. On 20 December 2019, White Sands became the 62nd national park in the United States.
