About ‘Where the Wind Stops - Hollum | Ameland’ by KRAB

This is where the wind stops. "Waar de Wind Stopt - Hollum | Ameland" is a digital work, created from my own photograph of the Wadden Sea coast near the village of Hollum on Ameland; it has been edited and refined using the colour palette 'Espresso and Bone', which I created using Midjourney and then refined.

Warm dark brown in the sky, almost-white sand undulating towards the sea, marram grass growing out of the picture as if it had always been there. The sea is merely a line here. A reminder of the horizon. All that matters is the sand, the grass, the silence.

This is not a holiday coast.
This is the Wadden Sea in its purest form, without people, without hustle and bustle, only the light that lingers long after the day is over. For those who know Ameland, the recognition is immediate. For those who do not, it is an invitation.

The palette 'Espresso and Bone' is geïnspireerd op het werk van Lauren Wager uit haar boek 'Palette Perfect Vol. 2'.
