This weather pine is far more than just a tree - it is a silent legend of Saxon Switzerland. Rooted on the Lilienstein, one of the most striking table mountains in the region, it has defied wind, weather and time for decades. Its gnarled shape and sloping branches tell of countless storms, frost and heat, but also of an indomitable will to survive.
Hardly any other tree has been photographed so often and yet it never loses its fascination. Its exposed position on the rocky plateau offers a spectacular panoramic view of the Elbe sandstone landscape. Particularly in the early hours of the morning, when mist drifts over the valleys or the golden light of the evening sweeps across the landscape, the weather pine reveals its full poetic power.
The sight of it symbolises resilience and serenity - a source of inspiration for nature lovers, hikers and photographers alike.
