This photo was taken from the beach on Ameland, while looking out over the Wadden Sea on a stormy day in March. The cloud cover promises that it won't be a typical 'beautiful day', but in my opinion that is also much more interesting to photograph.
The sea is not calm, it undulates and it flows as the wind drives it. I'm not a summer person, so you won't find me at the beach anytime soon. I do like to be there in all other seasons of the year. With my photography I want to show the beauty of our beautiful Netherlands. We see so many beautiful places in the world, but sometimes we forget that this grand splendor can also be found close to home.
I like it when images are in balance. I like to create symmetry and central compositions, sometimes a bit against minimalism. Especially when there are no people in the image.
