About ‘Water Lilies, Claude Monet’
Water Lilies, Claude Monet
It was in 1897 that Monet began drawing the water lilies on the pond in the Japanese garden of Giverny's home.
Monet explains one of the reasons why he was fascinated by water lilies. "The image awakens an infinite sense. The elements that make up the universe and the instability of the universe that changes every moment in front of us exist there like a microcosm."
