Wassily Kandinsky (Moscow, December 16, 1866 - Neuilly-sur-Seine, December 13, 1944) was a Russian-French painter and graphic artist.His painting style initially belonged to expressionism, sometimes also to symbolism.Kandinsky was one of the painters who gave form and philosophical background to abstract art in the first quarter of the twentieth century.
