About ‘Waiting for you for lunch. (Hand-painted with watercolour )’ by Ineke de Rijk

The wine is ready for lunch, the table is set with a purple vase with white flowers. It is a beautiful warm late summer day, the background is coloured orange-yellow and the light shines on the table with the vase, wine and a wine glass . A still life painted with watercolour and gouache.
An afternoon without end.
A nice painting…

Ineke de Rijk's inspiring travels

From the Algarve to The Gambia

I have time to draw and paint more after years of volunteer work for the St. Care Foundation The Gambia. Inspiration I got in the Gambia where I also lived. The colors, the population and life is a great source of inspiration. But also the quieter life now is inspiring to use softer colours and to work more with pastel chalk. But still it's nice to work in all kinds of colours and to try out new techniques and new materials.
