A wildebeest looking up because of a passing safari car in the middle of Ngorongoro Crater: an imposing nature reserve in Tanzania. Through this photograph, I try to capture both the wildebeest's rugged appearance and the grandeur of its surroundings. At 260 km, Ngorongoro Crater is the world's largest intact volcanic caldera! What is extra fascinating for a wildlife enthusiast is that of all the areas in Africa, this area has the highest concentration of wildlife. Despite that, individual animals sometimes seem to be almost alone in the world, like this one, but nothing could be further from the truth. :) - Irene
